HRUC and Heathrow – A Successful Employer Partnership
HRUC and Heathrow have a well-established strong, successful partnership and we continue to develop and evolve this across many curriculum areas with students at all levels from foundation to higher education.
Examples of our partnership include:
- An Inclusive Learning Day, hosted at Heathrow for students with special educational/learning support needs, provided opportunities for students to meet and engage with supply chain representatives. Following this, Heathrow have organised a forum with their supply chain to discuss opportunities to engage with SEND learners including access to work experience and work opportunities.
- As an anchor partner of the HRUC-led West London Institute of Technology, Heathrow help steer the direction of our high-level STEM provision, ensuring the curriculum remains relevant to industry needs to provide students with the skills they need for a successful career.
- Volunteer staff from Heathrow facilitate the Skills Builder programme enabling our students to gain essential and transferable skills to prepare them for their future learning and the workplace.
- Our partnership benefits Heathrow as it develops its approach to inclusive workforce recruitment, providing them with access to well-trained candidates enabling them to develop their future workforce and talent pipeline. This is also a London priority and supports with achieving the Mayor’s Good Work Standard.
- HRUC students benefit from opportunities to develop employability skills and can engage with Heathrow to access employment opportunities to develop their potential and future careers. Our staff also benefit from working with Heathrow employees and with their industry insight can further develop curriculum and progression routes.
